How do I scan a document with my iPhone?
Open Scanner App and hold your phone over the page. The edges are detected automatically, and the scan is cropped, straightened, and enhanced. Save it as a PDF and it is ready to send.
Can I scan multiple pages into one PDF?
Yes. Keep capturing and each page is added to the same document. You can reorder or delete pages before saving, which is what you want for contracts and multi-page forms.
What file formats can I export?
PDF, JPG, PNG, or TXT. PDF suits paperwork you are sending on, JPG and PNG suit images, and TXT holds the text extracted by OCR.
How do I sign a PDF on my iPhone?
Draw your signature once with your finger and save it. From then on you can place it on any document with a tap, drag it into position, resize it, and export the signed PDF.
Can I sign a PDF that someone emailed me?
Yes. Import the PDF into Scanner App, add your signature, and export it back. You never need to print or rescan anything.
Does OCR work on handwriting?
Yes, with good accuracy on reasonably tidy handwriting. Printed text is more reliable. A flat page, even lighting, and a straight angle improve the result more than anything else.
How many languages does text recognition support?
More than 50, so mixed-language documents and non-Latin scripts work without switching apps.
Can I scan an ID card or passport?
Yes. Card scanning crops tightly to the document and lets you capture the front and back into a single file, which is what most forms and applications ask for.
Does Scanner App work without an internet connection?
Yes, completely. Scanning, enhancement, text recognition, and signing all run on your iPhone. The app works in airplane mode.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. Scanner App has no account and no sync. Your scans stay on your device, and we cannot access, collect, or share them.
How do I keep my scans organized?
Create folders for the project you are working on, scan directly into them, and add tags for documents that belong in more than one place. Once OCR has run you can also search by the text inside a document.
Does Scanner App require a subscription?
Scanner App is free to download and core scanning is available to everyone. Optional in-app purchases unlock premium features. There is no mandatory subscription.
